Because 26 people showed up for Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy’s monthly walk at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve on February 12, we broke into two groups: one led by Michael Sciortino and Larry Meade, and the other by Joe Coleman and Mary Ann Good. Each group found 35 species of birds, with a total of 42 species for the two groups. The highlights of the two walks were two Gray Catbirds that were seen and heard about a quarter mile apart from each other, Three Wild Turkeys, two Fox Sparrows, two Hermit Thrushes and a calling Barred Owl.
