Habitat is a combination of food, water, shelter and space arranged to meet the needs of wildlife. Habitat conservation seeks to conserve, protect and restore habitat areas for wild plants and animals.
Native trees, shrubs and flowers support wildlife, especially wildlife that has grown accustomed to the region and what grows here. If we lose too much of the native growth, we begin to lose the wildlife too.
You can help wildlife and the environment as a whole, one step at a time. You can be part of a larger effort at a local park or the common spaces of your HOA. You can also make a difference in your own yard.
