November 14 was the perfect day for watching birds at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in central Loudoun County. The beautiful, crisp and sunny fall morning brought out a small group of people, led by Joe Coleman and Mike Sciortino with Mike Scott’s assistance, to wander the trails during this regular monthly bird walk. The group found 38 species with the highlights of the walk being four flyover Tundra Swans, a Merlin, and a Palm Warbler. For a complete list of all the birds observed at Banshee Reeks, see below or view the eBird checklist online.
This free bird walk is sponsored by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and the Friends of Banshee Reeks.
