Beaverdam Creek Reservoir is 350 + acres of calm lake and beautiful woods with plenty of hiking trails and home to residents such as the Bald Eagle and white-tailed deer.
The refuge has a boat launch, although no motorized boats are allowed, but anyone with a kayak or canoe will find plenty of enjoyment paddling around the lake and discovering all it has to offer.
The lake is rumored to have been stocked with fish starting back in the 1970’s and now has naturally reproducing populations of fish.
Most anglers will tell you stories of catching a crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, redear sunfish, white perch, and the occasional smallmouth bass.

When to Visit
The area is undergoing a two-year renovation. Access is limited. According to Loudoun Water:
“Beginning November 1, 2016, Beaverdam Reservoir’s marked trails will be open for public access from dawn to dusk. During the renovation project, water access will be prohibited. No fishing, boating, paddling or other water activities permitted starting November 1.”
