Do you incorporate the Dulles Greenway Eagle Cam into your classroom and lesson plans? Did you know Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy Eagle Cam volunteers are available to meet with your students virtually? Each year we conduct over 50 classroom chat sessions reaching approximately 1,870 students of all ages. These sessions offer students the opportunity to get their questions answered by volunteers that work with the Eagle Cam Program. Read what teachers are saying about this experience.
From February 1 to May 30, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy Eagle Cam volunteers are available to present 30 or 45 minute virtual classroom chat sessions. This time period is when the Bald Eagles are most likely to be at the nest for hatching eggs and rearing young. Classroom chats are available on the following days and times:
- Tuesdays, 11:00am to 2:00pm EST
- Wednesdays, 9:00am to noon EST
- Thursdays, 11:00am to 2:00pm EST
Use the form below if you are interested in scheduling a classroom chat for your students. NOTE: This form must be submitted a minimum of seven days prior to your proposed classroom chat dates.
Once we receive your request, we will be in touch soon to confirm the date and time of your classroom chat session. The sessions are scheduled on a first-come first-serve basis. When possible, we will schedule the class chat on your first choice of date and time.
In the meantime, please work with your students to discover what they would like to know about Eagles. To make the most of our time together, we request that you send us a list of student questions (including the first name of the student asking the question) as soon as possible after receiving confirmation from us.
Please reach out to us at eaglecamclasschat@loudounwildlife.org if you have any questions. We look forward to meeting you and your students!
