November is the month of “thanks-giving,” and we would like to take time to thank ALL of our volunteers. Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy would not exist if it were not for the 500+ volunteers that support us by sharing their time, interests, knowledge and experience.
We are a volunteer-driven organization with only five staff members: one full-time and five part-time employees. Our Volunteer Program Coordinators play an integral role in motivating, engaging and inspiring people to help with their programs. Without volunteers, we would not be able to accomplish any of the following.
Provide educational programming to the community through:
- Field Trips and Programs
- Dulles Greenway Eagle Cam
- Habitat Herald Publication
- Peterson Young Naturalist Program
- Youth and Family Programs

Conserve and restore wildlife habitat through:

Preserve and enhance JK Black Oak Wildlife Sanctuary’s globally rare wetlands protecting the sensitive vernal pools, unique geological setting, and rich amphibian and wildlife populations. (Check out some of the volunteers in action.)
We also have a dedicated group of volunteer Board Members and many partners who depend on volunteers as well.
Volunteers plan, coordinate, and execute all of our programs that help to protect, preserve, and restore wildlife habitat in order to realize the vision of a Loudoun where people and wildlife thrive together.
Thank you volunteers! We are grateful for all you do.
