Site Description: This site is located outside of Lovettsville, one mile above the confluence with the Potomac River. This is a benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring site (in partnership with Virginia Save Our Streams).

Ecological condition rating score resulting from benthic macroinvertebrate surveys at Catoctin Creek starting Fall 2023. This site initially received an acceptable rating, but received an unacceptable rating in Spring 2024.These surveys cannot detect bacterial pollution.
