As part of the Peterson Young Naturalist Program, Loudoun Wildlife collaborates with Loudoun County Public Schools teachers to host two teacher trainings each school year. During those teacher trainings, activities and lesson plans are shared with teachers as examples of the types of activities that teachers can use in their classrooms as part of the nature journaling program. The lesson plans below have been shared with permission of the teachers who created them, and they are intended to be adapted for use in the classroom. Teachers have also shared several videos related to the lesson plans, and a section of guides and activities related to popular nature identification apps you may want to incorporate into your classroom is also included. Enjoy, and keep coming back to this page, as we’ll be adding additional resources and lesson plans as we receive them.
