Sixty-five people attended the Year in the Life of an Owl program at Rust Library on November 2. Liz Dennison, Tim Dennison and Maggie Steinhilper from Secret Garden Birds and Bees were on hand with four owl ambassadors to help tell the story. At the event attendees met Scarlett (Barred Owl), Hodor (Great Horned Owl), Phantom (Barn Owl) and Kvosir (Eastern Screech Owl). They learned about each species, what they sound like, their habitat and a little about their lives in captivity. Liz and her team allowed time after the presentation to give every attendee the chance to see the birds up close. The program was co-sponsored by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and the Loudoun County Public Library.
