How long have you volunteered with Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy (LWC) and how did you hear about us?
Amy has volunteered with LWC on and off for over 15 years. She believes she heard about us from a copy of the Habitat Herald she saw at the library!
What opportunities have you volunteered for/are signed up for?
Amy has done bluebird nestbox monitoring at Crooked Run and helped with stream monitoring. Amy (and her daughter Emma) became certified stream monitors and started their own monitoring site on her parents’ property outside of Hillsboro. Amy participated in creating a series of LWC videos about stream monitoring and has recently become a Co-Coordinator for the Stream Monitoring program. As we bid farewell to the current Stream Monitoring Coordinator, Sarah Ali, and wish her happiness in her new home on the West Coast, Amy will transition into the role of Program Coordinator this spring.
What is your favorite natural area in Loudoun County?
Amy’s favorite natural area in Loudoun is the pond and forest area on her parents’ property outside of Hillsboro.

Amy and her daughter Emma authored this article in the Habitat Herald last year about becoming Certified Stream Monitors.
