What better way to spend a cold winter day than planning your garden!
Julie Borneman, of Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, walked the audience through a variety of landscape planning tools in her Loudoun County Public Library virtual presentation “Winter Planning for Your Garden”.
Julie’s presentation highlighted:
- Websites and software that will assist with garden design and plant layout
- Details on things to consider when designing your landscape
- How to choose plants and how to know if they are native or not and what benefits they provide to wildlife
- Examples of planted landscapes
- Information about specific plants to use
The program wrapped up with questions and comments from the audience about plants they like, deer problems, and problem spots in their yards. As Julie says “A little planning can go a long way toward having a rewarding garden”.
