Join Jenny Erickson, Loudoun Wildlife’s Amphibian Monitoring Coordinator, for a unique opportunity to explore the world of amphibians at JK Black Oak Wildlife Sanctuary at night. Jenny will lead several walks in February, March and/or April to visit the vernal pools on the property where amphibians lay their eggs. The walks will be scheduled one to two weeks in advance based on when the pools are filled with water, which varies from one year to another.
Once the walks are scheduled, they will be listed below and on the event calendar. Each walk will be limited to six adults and waterproof footwear and a flashlight/headlamp are required.
Vernal pool watch: as of February 2, the pools have no water.
