Site Description: Broad Run is a tributary of the Potomac River. This site is located approximately one mile downstream from the headwaters of the Broad Run, within the Willowsford community outside of Aldie.
Certified Lead Monitor: Rich Wailes started monitoring Broad Run in the fall of 2021. Teacher and student volunteers from Lightridge High School and Willowsford residents are currently assisting Rich with his surveys.
Ecological condition rating scores resulting from benthic macroinvertebrate surveys at Broad Run, Willowsford starting Fall 2021. This site has received a mix of acceptable, indeterminate, and unacceptable ratings. These surveys cannot detect bacterial pollution.
