Last Sunday was the annual Earthday@Loudoun event and it was a great!
The booths were all busy, lots of people talking about wildlife and habitats and things that we can all do to live sustainably.
Joe Coleman had a 20 minute spot on the Eco-stage and gave a talk on the Dulles Greenway Wetlands Mitigation Project, where Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy holds various walks and conducts citizen science projects, like our bluebird nestbox monitoring and Bird Atlas.
We also raffled off three of the poster-size wildlife photos that we used during the talk and they’ve gone to good homes. We’ll raffle off the remaining posters at our Annual Meeting in June.
We met a lot of new people who came over to our fair booth, and had fun showing kids different animal tracks and talking about our local wildlife.
Photos from the day are posted in our facebook gallery.
