Originally from Fairfax, Mike is a lifelong Virginian and a resident of Loudoun since 2015. He and his wife live in Leesburg with their two boys and labradoodle.
Mike has always enjoyed being outdoors exploring nature, especially birds. His interest in birds did not become the full-on addiction it is today until he attended his first guided bird walk with Loudoun Wildlife in 2015. The patient and collaborative attitude of the walk leaders sparked a new level of interest and a strong sense of belonging at LWC. Mike has been a member and field trip leader ever since, and he aims to continue the supportive atmosphere in the future.
Mike considers himself a lifelong learner. He particularly loves seeing firsthand the relationship between native plants and animals. He has recently become passionate about native plants and has started the process of converting his home landscape into a native habitat for birds and insects to enjoy.
With the ongoing and rapid development of Loudoun County, Mike hopes to help spread the word about the importance of conservation and keeping Loudoun’s natural areas intact.
Mike has spent the majority of his professional career as a business development professional in the fields of technology and training content services.
