
Ben Kota is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). He has been with NWF since 2013, having previously served as General Counsel. His primary focus is on ensuring effective and efficient support for mission delivery while maximizing impact. He is a member of several leadership teams within NWF and serves as the Secretary of its Board of Directors. Ben also serves on the Board of the Lake Fairfax Business Center Owners Association.
Ben is particularly drawn to the vital role local organizations play in fostering authentic engagement with relevant stakeholders to protect wildlife and habitat. From implementation of meaningful restoration projects and nature-based education to native gardening initiatives, he is energized by these tangible efforts to positively influence the world around us.
Growing up in Western New York, Ben developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoys returning to visit the natural beauty of Zoar Valley. He now resides in Brambleton with his wife, daughter and Golden Retriever, Parker, and is a huge Buffalo Bills fan.
Ben is eager to contribute to ensuring Loudoun County has robust habitat full of abundant wildlife.
