J.W. Glass is an attorney by trade, but an environmentalist by nature, working professionally at the national conservation organization Center for Biological Diversity to protect endangered species and their habitat. In addition to his love for all things wild and wonderful (including the rare species of Loudoun County like the Northern Long-eared Bat and Rusty Patched Bumble Bee) professionally, J.W. specializes in the laws surrounding wetlands, biodiversity, pollinators, pesticides and other toxic chemicals. He became interested in Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy through their advocacy work to protect the globally imperiled J.K. Black Oak Wildlife Sanctuary from development and hopes to work to preserve the natural spaces and special places that make Loudoun County so unique.
J.W. lives in downtown Leesburg with his wife and two children. He is often found spending his weekends outdoors, whether playing in the creek at Ashburn Park, hiking nearby trails at Morven Park, or birding at Rust Nature Preserve.
