After moving to Hamilton with her family several years ago, Michele Savage volunteered to help revive an overgrown pollinator garden at her daughter’s elementary school, which led her to native plants, wildlife gardening and Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy. Now, as managing editor of the Habitat Herald, she coordinates submissions from writers, photographers, and other contributors to Loudoun Wildlife’s quarterly newsletter; works with the dedicated members of the Herald‘s small staff and a local designer to get articles edited and onto well-designed pages; and strives to ensure the finished product is printed and delivered to readers on time. Michele spent more than 25 years in journalism before leaving the newsroom behind to work as a freelance editor and copy editor.
