Janet previously served on the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy Board, with a stint as vice president and 5 years coordinating Bluebird trail monitoring for the county. She has worked in Bluebird conservation for over 20 years, joining one of the first teams formed by the Virginia Bluebird Society. She currently is the Bluebird trail leader at Crooked Run Orchard. She also participates in the Christmas bird counts and butterfly counts. Janet lives in an old farmhouse near Philomont that she shares with her husband and a menagerie of animals, including chimney swifts and brown bats. Passionate about native gardening, Janet is involved with the Audubon at Home program and had her property certified as a wildlife sanctuary several years ago. Raising Monarchs is a favorite late summer pasttime, collecting the eggs and caterpillars from milkweed on her property. She has released hundreds of butterflies over the last several years. When not gardening, Janet works for DHL Same Day as a Solutions Architect in their IT department.
