Janet has been a conservation advocate since elementary school and a gardener for many years, beginning with the planting of various native wildflowers (along with a few non-native flowers) transplanted from her mother’s garden. Having attended many programs offered by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, Janet has gained a deep appreciation of the importance of “planting native” and her garden is certified as a wildlife habitat. She is a former board member of the Humane Society of Loudoun County and is an annual gala sponsor of the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Janet graduated summa cum laude from Tennessee Wesleyan University where she recently donated funds to build a pollinator garden to accompany the landscape. For five years she taught elementary school in Tennessee and has been “flying the friendly skies” as an international flight attendant for over 40 years.
