The preserve is a diverse 695-acre treasure in the heart of Loudoun County. Its streams\, trees\, shrubs and fields attracts lots of species\, making it a birding hotspot. Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and the Friends of Banshee Reeks and see what we find. SUMMARY:Bird Walk at Rockland Farm
DESCRIPTION:Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy as we search for signs of breeding birds on a special visit to this private 600-acre farm a little north of Leesburg. The farm\, which has been in the same family since 1817\, borders the Potomac River and is rich in wildlife because of the many kinds of habitats there. It includes a rich floodplain along the river\, edge and meadow habitat\, and on its northern border\, Limestone Branch. The varied habitats should provide the group with a good variety of birds. Limit 24.  Meeting location and parking information will be emailed to registered participants. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy nature during this monthly walk at Sweet Run State Park. We will  explore parts of this beautiful\, large preserve and see what lives in and visits its diverse habitats.  Meet at the main parking lot near the Interpretive Center. The Park is located just north of Neersville at 11661 Harpers Ferry Road (Route 671); see map below. Registration required.  \nFee Notice: Sweet Run collects parking fees via self-pay kiosks located at each parking area/entrance. The fee for a standard vehicle is $10.
