Trip to Mt. Cuba Center

Enjoy native plants on parade! Visit Mt. Cuba Center in Hockessin, Delaware, with Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy.
Mt. Cuba Center is known for its extensive collection of native plants of the Piedmont region. A home for conservation and preservation since the 1930s, Mt. Cuba Center offers tours, educational programs, and research that inspires an appreciation for the beauty and value of native plants and a commitment to protect the habitats that sustain them. Our visit is planned to coincide with the peak blooming period of the spring ephemerals.
Cost: $100—This amount includes all garden fees, round-trip transportation, a boxed lunch (see options), and lecture. Snacks, water, and information packet will also be provided. If after you register you are unable to attend, you must cancel before March 27, 2018.
Native Plants on Parade Program:
10:00 a.m.—Arrive Mt. Cuba Center
10:15 a.m.—Begin two-hour, docent-led tour of the grounds
12:15 p.m.—Enjoy boxed lunch in the picnic area
1:15 p.m.—Hear talk on research at Mt. Cuba Center by George Coombs, horticultural research manager
2:15 p.m. Free to roam the gardens.
3:15 p.m.—Return to bus for prompt 3:30 p.m. departure
- Field trip departure: 7:00 a.m. from Virginia Village Shopping Center, Catoctin Circle SE, Leesburg. Meet behind the Wells Fargo Bank.
- Field trip return: 6:30 p.m., same Leesburg location
