Salt Watch Program Kickoff

Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy at Rust Library to learn how road salt impacts our environment, our health and our infrastructures – in the winter and year-round. Amy Ulland, Stream Team Coordinator, will provide an overview of the problems caused by over salting our roads and explain how you can get involved in this nationwide citizen science program at the local level.

Amy will also discuss plans for using the data for educational outreach and advocacy efforts to encourage smarter salting practices. This is a great citizen science activity for individuals, couples, families and youth groups! We are especially in need of volunteers in the Leesburg area, but welcome participants from around the county. Registration required.
