CANCELLED: Open House and Holiday Shopping Extravaganza
December 9, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
UPDATE, DECEMBER 9: Due to the weather and forecasted snow, we are cancelling the activities described below. Our sincere apologies. Please stay tuned for the rescheduling. We are excited to share our new location with you!
Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy will celebrate the opening of its new headquarters with an open house (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and ribbon-cutting ceremony (12 p.m.) on Saturday, December 9, 2017. The nonprofit’s new home is located on the grounds of Leesburg’s Morven Park, in a historic building known as the Gate House.
“We are so thankful for our partnership with Morven Park and happy that their board and staff offered us this wonderful location,” says Nicole Sudduth, Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy’s executive director, of the leased space. “It provides not only a home for our office, but an area where we can teach about nature, have hands-on displays, and offer our nature books, handouts, and gear.”
Loudoun Wildlife shares the following details about the event day:
• All festivities, hosted by the organization’s staff and volunteers, will take place at 17638 Old Waterford Road (note: visitors must enter Morven Park to access the building, as there is no street parking permitted; please see directions below).
• Kelly Burk, mayor of Leesburg, will be among the invited guests participating in the 12 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.
• Gifts such as books (new, used, and signed), jewelry (Creations by Diane), photography (Jim Emery), T-shirts, and monarch rearing cages will be available for purchase, along with memberships. Money raised during the event will benefit Loudoun Wildlife’s nature education, habitat restoration, citizen science, and conservation advocacy efforts.
• Light refreshments will be served.
Questions: Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Directions: Enter Morven Park‘s main entrance on Old Waterford Road, which feeds into Southern Planter Lane. Turn right just before reaching the main visitor parking lot, and then take an immediate right onto a one-lane access road to travel to the Gate House. Please drive slowly, as pedestrians frequently travel this road.
