Hawks: Their Natural History and Migratory Habitats (Virtual)
October 20, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

While a number of hawks nest and raise their young in Northern Virginia, thousands migrate through our area in the fall. Liam McGranaghan, educator, wildlife photographer, avid falconer, and hawk bander, will describe the different birds of prey that migrate through our area. He will also describe how to identify them, how their behavior varies and the calls they make.
Liam was selected in 2015 as a finalist for the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators in 2015. This award is presented by the White House Council on Environmental Quality in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to teachers who employ innovative approaches to environmental education and use the environment as a context for learning.
This virtual program is jointly sponsored by Loudoun County Public Library and the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy. Access to the program is via the library website.
