Bluebird Trail Walk at the Eliza Davis Bluebird Trail
July 20, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
NOVA Parks, in partnership with Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and in support of the Virginia Bluebird Society, hosts a program about Bluebirds and our regional native cavity nesting birds. This guided walk along the Eliza Davis Bluebird Trail includes:
- discussion of all aspects of nesting boxes
- nest identification
- collection of nesting data to track population trends
- introduction to Eliza Davis, resident of this site during the Civil War
We’ll also learn about Bluebirds’ lives in this lovely diverse wildlife habitat. We also may encounter other native cavity nesting birds such as Tree Swallows, Chickadees, Titmice and Wrens.
The Gilbert’s Corner Regional Park is at the Route 50/Watson Road traffic circle. Meet in the visitor parking lot. Please bring insect repellent and a water bottle. Terrain is easy but a little uneven; small park and slow pace.
For more information, contact Tracy Gillespie, Site Manager, Gilbert’s Corner Regional Park, 703-327-9777 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
