Site Description: This is Loudoun Wildlife’s furthest upstream site along the Tuscarora Creek, a tributary of the Goose Creek. The site is located at the former Westpark Golf Course in Leesburg, which is now operated by the Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services. This site is situated less than a mile and a half downstream from Loudoun Wildlife’s Dry Mill Branch site.
Certified Lead Monitor: Chris Henke became the lead monitor of this site in the spring of 2023, taking over for Amy Ulland who established the site in the fall of 2021. Emily Maltman conducted sodium chloride monitoring at this site from the fall of 2021 to the winter of 2022.

Ecological condition rating scores resulting from benthic macroinvertebrate surveys at Tuscarora Creek, Westpark starting Fall 2021. This site continuously received indeterminate ratings until Spring 2023, when it received an unacceptable rating. These surveys cannot detect bacterial pollution.
